3.8 Diagnosing leadership paradigms

0%

In this session, you will work with real examples and structured frameworks to diagnose leadership paradigms in organisations. There are two activities, each is described separately.

In Activity 1, start with a small team or group familiar to you. Use the tables for leader/follower roles and operational criteria that distinguish the paradigms to systematically analyse leadership in your chosen group. What does this tell you?

Activity 2 involves a case study of the Swatch Group, today the world’s biggest watchmaker. The case is presented in written and video forms. View the video and read the case study and again, apply the criteria that distinguish the paradigms to systematically analyse the paradigm(s) operating in different parts of the Swatch company. At the time the case study was written, how many leadership paradigms can you identify in the organisation and where?
